This is the story of a RED 105E Anglia that wanted to be Green!

It came to us here looking a bit tired you know when you have had no sleep for 48 hours and look in the mirror, the Ford having an engine noisy and bad paint our customer was asking for a bare metal exterior bodywork job, welding any small sections found on exterior panels and engine stripped and reconditioned and new engine carrier and steering rack.

First job was remove the engine and strip the rest of the underside bonnet wiring etc. the thick paint was removed on exterior bodywork initially with paint stripper, various rusty sections on some exterior panels needed cutting out and small sections welded into place.

The doors were removed to repair some sections this also makes the paintwork in door shuts easier later, bonnet and boot removed to work on and paint later, our customer asking for the car to be painted in Spruce Green, the first sign of the new colour was painting under bonnet and boot these can then be masked off.

Removing all the paint back to the original steel panels it usually finds many old repairs dents etc. and quite a few were found on the Ford eventually our usual 3 coats of two pack primer were applied, removing around two coats and other small blemishes another two coats applied and then finished with the Spruce green.

Engine was stripped to find worn pistons so it was honed and new pistons fitted, refinishing the top rockers, new oil pump and water pump, the carrier steering rack engine was then fitted. Finished in the Spuce with the white stripe with a lively little engine really changed this car from a tired old Anglia to something really stunning.
