Super Six Restoration

This Super 6 registered very early 1991 is one of the earliest tigers out there, sold in kit form to a friend Brian living on the coast in Kent, sadly he passed away a short while ago, this little Tiger has some interesting history, its around the 35th car built from when Tiger was formed and with Brian has had a few little setbacks !! early days with the Tiger owners we decided a trip to Belgium was a good idea, we had Well we thought it would be a good idea to have a small circuit round the trees and back, all going well until Brian span his Tiger sidewards into a rather large tree, from the factory we had took a demo Tiger six on a trailer just in case of a problem Brian used this on the way back, 2 hours from the port the heavens opened up and everyone got soaked, it was a fun event. Quite a few owners drive out there and we stayed in some funny little houses sort of lodges near a lake/forest.

We repaired the Tiger for Brian no problem, a few years later he phoned me and told me he had set the Tiger alight and it was in a petrol station !! apparently the union on his twin webber carb’s had come lose and with petrol on a hot exhaust it was quite a mess. Poor old Tiger ! since being unwell over the last few years the Tiger was not used and left outside, with the family we chatted and decided I should purchase the car and put it back as it was, no upgrades – well maybe the front brakes ( original ones are seized anyway) the rest of the car will remain original, my Mum made the seats – trim these will remain, the car has covered just 14K over its 33 years, as we rebuild this car you will be able to follow it here.

The very early super 6 engine has been stripped and in general pretty good condition, surprise was in had been upgraded to 1700cc specification.  Valves, bearings, cam, and bores very good, pistons hardly worn but piston rings are needed. the engine will have a light hone, new rings valves checked new clutch and be ready to drop back in later in the week, still deciding if we will refit the older twin webbers or drop on a new pair?

Colin busy with getting the rear super six axle checked/painted on the S6, new brake and fuel lines, new front and rear suspension, new petrol tank.
